Community Services offers a complete driver education program conducted by certified instructors.
Classroom Training
Intended primarily for district residents, classroom training is for participants who are 15 years old at the end of the session. Class registration requires a special form, which is available at the Northfield High School main office, Community Services and online below. Students will receive a certificate of classroom completion card, which is necessary to apply for an instruction permit. Cost for replacement of lost or damaged cards is $10. Classes are at the high school, room H124.

Behind-the-Wheel Training
The six-hour Behind-the-Wheel experience is available by appointment following completion of the classroom session. Students must have a valid MN permit to register. The registration form is available at the Northfield High School main office, Community Services and online below. The cost of the training is $252. After successful completion of behind-the-wheel training students will receive a certificate of completion card, which is necessary to apply for a driver’s license. Cost for replacement of lost or damaged cards is $10.
