Bridges to Kindergarten

Bridges to KindergartenBridges to Kindergarten is a Northfield Public Schools school readiness program that is designed to assist children in making a smooth transition to kindergarten. Children participate in a kindergarten-like classroom experience with licensed early childhood and kindergarten teachers.

Who participates?

All are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed and placement priority is given to children with certain risk factors that are known to have an impact on learning and/or school readiness.

How much does it cost?

Bridges to Kindergarten is a grant funded program through the Northfield Area United Way and is free for eligible participants.

When is Bridges to Kindergarten?

Bridges to Kindergarten meets for three weeks in August, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 to 11:30 am. In 2011, Bridges to Kindergarten will take place August 1 – 18.

Where is Bridges to Kindergarten?

Classes are offered at Bridgewater, Greenvale Park and Sibley. Children who qualify for participation are placed in classrooms in the building where they will attend kindergarten.
