  • ARTS a la CARTE is only ONE WEEK AWAY – next FRIDAY evening April 24th from 5-8pm!!! There will be HONORS ART BOOTHS. MUSICAL and THEATER PERFORMANCES, and ARTMAKING FUN FOR YOU and YOUR FRIENDS! Some of the activities planned for this year’s event include: the ever popular fish printing on t-shirts (bring your own and print for free or buy a white t-shirt for $5.00), clay pot throwing lessons, finger painting, Zentangles,henna tattoos, shrinky dinks, robot art, splatter monsters, face painting, and MUCH MORE!
  • If you are interested in helping with the set for the spring play we will be working: Saturday 9-noon, Monday 3-5:30 and Tuesday 6:30-9. Everyone is welcome.
  • The Yearbook staff would love your photos of Spring sports and activities. Upload to Replayit.com or send your photos to yearbook@nfld.k12.mn.us
  • There are still yearbooks available for purchase! Get an order form from the door of the yearbook room, H115. If you are not sure you ordered a book, check the list on the bulletin board outside of the room.
  • Hello NHS! Are you ready for the senior-faculty basketball game? The game is Monday, April 20th at 7pm in the high school gym. Come watch your teachers take on the seniors! Seniors who want to play need to resign up in the office due to the date change. And remember all proceeds go to Northfield families in need.
  • In addition to the proceeds from the basketball game, student council will also be raising money for families starting TODAY during lunch. For each donation you will get your name entered in a raffle for fabulous prizes. Winners from each grade will be announced at the student-faculty basketball game on Monday you MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! So bring your change to lunch and donate to a great cause!
  • Attention Seniors! Tickets for your lock-in on Thursday, May 28 from 10:15PM – 5:00AM will go on sale on May 4th in the Activities Office for $30; they will be $35 at the door. Tickets include all food, drinks, prizes and activities for the night – don’t miss out on all the fun! Also, please see Mrs. Kohel in D103 if you are interested in auditioning to speak at graduation. Auditions will take place after school on Wednesday, May 6!
  • No date on May 2? No Problem! All Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend the After Prom Party May 2 from 12-4am. Come hang out with your friends and play poker, bingo, and go bowling. Be prepared for winning great prizes, eating good food, and building fun memories with friends. $5 at the door, enter between 12-1am.
  • Sophomores and Juniors: Community Resource Bank Junior Board of Directors applications are available in the office.
  • Juniors and seniors: Are you going to prom and planning to rent a tux? Please choose Men’s Wearhouse. They will make a donation to DECA for each Northfield tux rented. Mention you’re from Northfield High School when you stop in. Also, see Tyler Hepler for rental discount coupons. Thanks!
  • Grand March is free for those attending Prom, guests will be asked to pay a $3.00 admission fee. Only those going to Prom can walk in the Grand March.

  • The 15th annual Arts a la Carte is COMING!!! This hugely popular all-school event takes place on Friday, April 24th from 5-8pm and WE WANT TO SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT! You may submit up to 2 pieces of 2-D or 3-D artwork that you created on your own or in an art class. BRING IT IN TO THE ART OFFICE BY THURSDAY, APRIL 23th and fill out a simple form. Your work will then be labeled and added to the NHS STUDENT ART SHOW for Arts a la Carte! THERE ARE FABULOUS PRIZES for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and even a People’s Choice Award. HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW OFF YOUR ARTISTIC TALENTS! QUESTIONS? …see Mrs. Hauck in the Art Department!

  • Band students: Please bring a pen or pencil to the 6th hour performance today.
  • The Raider Speech Team had a strong finish to their 2015 season. A highlight from the Section 1AA Tournament was Jackson Hillmann (Humorous) and Brynn Artley (Storytelling) making Finals and each placing 6th overall. Other commended preliminary round scores from the event include:Earning at least one “1” that evening were Jonie Erickson (Storytelling), Abby Andrade (Ex. Reading), Becky Mussehl (Creative), and Samuel Jimmy (Creative). Will Shelby (Humorous), Sebastian Lawler (Discussion), Jasper Egge (Storytelling), Thea Pitsavas (Informative), Alex Gunn (Ex. Reading), Courtney Nelson (Ex. Reading), and Natalie Swanson (Prose) each earned at least one “2”. At least one “3” was earned by Jack Lunderby (Humorous), Emily Jacobson (Ex. Reading), Amanda Nelson (Poetry), and Audrey Battiste (Prose). Congrats to all Raider Speakers on a fantastic finish to the 2015 season!
