Astronomy Club:  Learn how to use a telescope and CCD camera.  Learn about and observe the wonders of the sky!  See Ms. Messer in S123 for information and a registration form.

Parking permits are on sale to Sophomores only on Thursday October 2nd during lunches and afterschool.  They will be for sale in Kim Bauer’s office window next to the Guidance office.  Please look for gold flyers around the building for info on what to bring.

Next parking permit sale dates are: October 6th & 13th during all lunches and after school.  If you aren’t purchasing a parking permit please park in the free lot (The south forty)

HS parents and students:  Do you have the “Replayit” app on your phone and iPad?  If not, get it so you can share photos for use in the yearbook!  The yearbook staff is looking for great photos of fall sports and homecoming events.  If you want to see you and your friends in the yearbook, upload your photos to “Replayit” either online on your desktop, or by using the app on your devices.

Attention Juniors: You can now sign up for the PSAT in the counseling office.  The exam will be held on October 15th at the high school and the cost is $14.  The PSAT is great preparation for the SAT. You will receive suggestions on how to improve your academic skills. You will also be entered in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions for recognition and scholarships by taking the PSAT. Check in with a counselor if you have questions.

  • The G-S-A (Gender-Sexuality-Alliance, formerly known as Gay-Straight-Alliance) will be holding it’s first official meeting on Monday in H-114, Mrs. Swan McDonald’s room starting at 2:50 p.m. Come and stay as long as you are able. This group is for all students who are interested in issues surrounding sexual orientation and making NHS a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
  • Congratulations to sophomore Sydnee Eddy for winning DECA’s homecoming t-shirt drawing! Sydnee will get a free sweatshirt.
  • Yearbook staff: Check your email for updates about our next meetings. If you do not have the Schoology code, please stop by the yearbook room and get it off of the white board.

  • As part of Captain’s Training for this year, we will be holding a Captain’s “PLC.” This will take place on Wednesday, October 1st from 7:40 – 8:40 AM in the high school media center. The Tail Gate Party is open for anyone who wants to come! Go Raiders!
  • Homework help will be Mondays and Wednesdays in the media center from 3:00-4:30 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm at Greenvale Park starting this week.
  • DECA is selling homecoming t-shirts for $12! Get yours so you can remember the fun of homecoming, and support the Raiders. T-shirts are sold before school, during lunches, and after school at the DECA Raider Warehouse.
