  • Winter Sports Athletes – Please stop in the Activities office to have a sticker placed on your ID for your sports pass.
  • Attention Seniors and Senior Parents: Baby ads and senior photos are due Dec. 12. Please do not hand in senior photos with props of any type, including planes, trains, automobiles, pets, etc. You should submit a portrait, a headshot taken vertically if possible. The focus should be on you and not the stuff in your life. Email your photo, saved as firstname.lastname.jpg to Yearbook@nfld.k12.mn.us. At this MANDATORY meeting on Dec. 3rd, you will be taught a dance which will be part of the audition. If you have questions, please email Director Ray Coudret.

To be eligible you must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and must have participated in at least one sport, and choir, band, orchestra, drama or speech; during grades 9-12. Application forms are available in the main office. The deadline for applications is Thursday, December 4th.

  • The high school GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) invites you to bring your lunch to the choir room today, Friday, to learn about the most recent draft by the Minnesota State High School League in regards to students that identify as trans gender. The policy will be voted upon in early December and one of the voting members, our Athletic Director Mr. Graupman, will be available during A B and C lunch in the choir room to talk about the policy as it stands as well as answer questions and receive your input. If you would like to read the policy or submit your student voice, both can happen by visiting the Minnesota State High School League web site.
  • ASTRONOMY CLUB: Due to Carleton’s Winter Break Astronomy Club will be taking a break until Thursday, January 8th.

Don’t have plans this Saturday?  Now you do!  Come support your Northfield Hiliners as they compete for the first time this season.  The competition is at Burnsville high school and begins at 1 p.m.  Bring your loud friends and wear your maroon & gold or white to match our fan section!

  • Attention Veteran Speech Team Members: This week, we are holding our informational meeting for all new members, followed by auditions in early December.  That means that NOW is the time for you to call “dibs” on re-joining the team and choosing your category! So, if you have already joined the Schoology course, you are good to go: watch for messages from Coach SW about meeting to talk about your category preferences and selecting topics and pieces. If you have NOT yet joined the Schoology course, but DO intend to join Speech again, please join by Thursday, November 20th using this access code: KM2C5-KRDRV  If you do NOT join the Schoology group by November 20th, the Coaches will take that as your indication that you do NOT plan to join Speech this year.
  • Attention Potential Speech Team Competitors: If you are interested in auditioning for the Speech Team for the first time, there will be an informational meeting today, Wednesday, November 19th, at 2:50 p.m. in room S106. The informational meeting is no-strings-attached (though it will be your chance to sign-up for an audition time slot, if you so choose), so please stop in at 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19th to learn more about this fun activity!
