  • Are you interested in doing theater in college? Waldorf College in Forest City, IA (less than two hours from Northfield) is hosting a Fine Arts Weekend on April 10 and 11. During this two day event you will have the opportunity to meet Fine Arts faculty, tour the campus, take in a show, and audition for Fine Arts Scholarships. The weekend is free! Waldorf College will provided housing and meals during the two days. If you are interested in more information, including the possibility of carpooling, stop by Mr. Jorgensen’s room (M116) or check out http://www.waldorf.edu/faw
  • Prom t-shirt contest designs are due April 1. Hand them in to Mrs. Mucha in H120. See details on the posters posted around school.
  • Seniors: Community Scholarship Applications are available in the Counseling Office and on the Counseling Office website at http://nfld.k12.mn.us/nhs/support/counseling/scholarships/. More than 50 scholarships will be awarded at the Academic Awards and Community Scholarship program in April. Questions? Stop by the Counseling Office for more information. New Rotary Scholarship added to the Universal Scholarship Application.

Sports

  • All current sophomores and juniors who are interested in being a member of RALIE for next year must apply for membership at this time. All application materials can be picked up in the Activities Office, and the deadline to have all material filled out and returned is April 3rd. Also, you need to have a coach’s and/or advisor’s recommendation, so make sure to take care of this BEFORE spring break. The coach’s/advisor’s recommendation forms are in the Activities Office as well.

  • Prom t-shirt contest designs are due April 1. Hand them in to Mrs. Mucha in H120. See details on the posters posted around school.
  • The Raider Speech Team had a strong showing at its first-ever Big 9 Conference Tournament. The following speakers received honors: Jasper Egge (Champion, Storytelling), Libby Barth (Champion, Informative), Erin Hahn (2nd, Storytelling), Thea Pitsavas (3rd, Informative), Jonie Erickson (3rd, Storytelling), Sebastian Lawler (5th, Discussion), Katy Gilbertson (6th, Original Oratory), Audrey Battiste (6th, Serious Prose), Brynn Artley (6th, Storytelling), and Jackson Hillman (6th, Humorous).
  • Attention students interested in taking an AP exam this spring. The registration deadline is TODAY. Please see Ms. Rasmussen in the counseling office with questions.
  • Thank you to everyone who stepped up to help out with the final touches on the yearbook. Mrs. Mucha is eternally grateful. All pages will be submitted Thursday after school. All who helped in any way are welcome for a final goodbye to this year’s book as we send the last pages off to print.

  • The Raider Speech Team placed 3rd in the large school division at the Owatonna Huskie Invitational on Saturday. Top finishers were Emily Jacobson (Extemporaneous Reading), Alaina Falck (Prose), Natalie Swanson (Prose), Sebastian Lawler (Discussion), Jasper Egge (Storytelling), and Libby Barth (Informative).
