Sibley Elementary School is a neighborhood school which serves the east side of Northfield. For the 2011-12 school year, Sibley is home to 571 students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Three quarters of the Sibley students are in the Contemporary program and one quarter of the students are in the Compañeros (partial Spanish immersion) program. Sibley students are supported by 75 dedicated staff members, an active PTO and their families. Sibley students and staff benefit from the countless volunteer hours donated by St. Olaf College and Carleton College students, Northfield High School students, retired teachers and the parent community. Sibley Elementary School’s mission is to empower learners and build foundations.
